I’ve finished spinning the
red and yellow merino tops that Steph brought for me. I couldn’t put it down.
It looks really bright and summery. I halved the total and spun them into
single ply, and then I plied them together. Once they were plied, I wound the new yarn around my table legs to make a hank. As you can see, all this couldn't wait until I was out of my pjs!

Putting into a hank |
Once it was a hank, it went for a little soak and then I had to wait unitl it was dry!

Beautiful hank! |

Also lovely in the ball |
I couldn’t wait to knit it
and see what it looked like, so as soon as it was dry, after its little bath, I
started knitting a couple of samples. These samples quickly got unravelled to
start something.

On a 3mm needle |

On a 4mm needle, still a little squashed |
I didn’t really know what
the yarn wanted to be. Sometimes you just know, sometimes you just start
knitting and it becomes something. It started just been a tube
that could be a cowl. However, during a knit and natter, it was tried on my
head. Oooh it fits. It’s a hat!

Knitted in the round, garter stitch edge |
I haven’t started the decreasing
for the hat yet. I wanted to make it a bit more slouchy first. But it defiantly
wants to be a hat.
Fabulously creative as always xx
