WI Sew Crafty – Silk Painting

I have the great fortune of leading a workshop last night for my lovely Tea and Tarts. We are Huddersfield’s Women’s Institute.

I was so nervous before I started last night, I don’t know why as everyone is lovely and there were no problems. One lady said I was so nervous because I care. I like that. I care about my fellow Tarts lots.

Anyway, the workshop was all about silk painting. We used the left over silk from my wedding dress and paints from Calder Graphics, who are also in Byram Arcade, (keeping it local). It was a taster to silk painting but there were some very talented creative people. Below are some of my favourite ones (I couldn’t post them all!).

Claire's Sun

Jodie's for her daughter

All in all, I had a great time. Thank you ladies! Xx

  1. It was a lovely evening Lydia - it's one of the main reasons I joined T&T, to learn new crafts. Looking forward to the next one! Mo
